DEC 2016 CRCS MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by club President Ed Yeash at 7:02PM Monday, Dec 5, 2016, at Perkins Restaurant located at 1700 Trolley Rd Summerville, SC. 

There were 25 members in attendance. Board members present were.

  • President: Ed Yeash

  • Safety Officer: absent
  • Field Officer: Gerry Higdon
  • Members at Large:  Bill Evans, Bob Call, Roy Leopold

MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING

Minutes from the last meeting were accepted as posted on the club website and as read by club Secretary Richard Guthrie. 


TREASURERS REPORT

The treasurers report was read by Bob Mason and accepted by members present. 


FIELD MAINTENANCE REPORT

Gary H. nothing new to report. 


SAFETY REPORT

Gary H. observed a member working close to a spinning prop on a nitro airplane.  Be careful out there.


TRAINING REPORT

Seven year old perspective new member, Eva has some intro flights with Ed and is working to buy an airplane. Bill Evans Grandson Noah has also has an intro flight and is working hard on the simulator and getting his AMA. 


OLD BUSINESS

  • Ballots were counted for club officers, 29 of 30 approved the slate of officers, with one write in made. 
  • Letter from Roper St. Francis was read concerning the clubs memorial gift in memory of Dr. Larry Lemel.


NEW BUSINESS

  • Next March 18 & 19 there will be another Railroad Show. There was motion made and seconded, and approved by the members present to have the club setup 4 tables for the membership.  These can be used to sell personal RC items.  The times will be Mar. 18, Saturday 9-5 and March 19, Sunday 10-4.
  • Frosty Dog fly-in at Triple Tree is 7 Jan 8:30 to 6:00 It is aways a fun event. There will be a swap shop. 
  • This is the last meeting for Lance Keeling.  We all wished him well and happy flying at is new location in Hawaii.  
  • Gary Q. was presented with a special Club credentials as the CRCS Field Rules Enforcer, complete with the appropriate Badge. Thanks to Bill Evans for this. 
  • Mike Mauk wants to make a bulk purchase of nitro fuel.  Anyone interested should contact Mike on his phone or email. 
  • NOTE: Next meeting will be on the Second Monday, 9 Jan, 2017


SHOW AND TELL

There was a donation to the club of nitro motors and parts. These will be auctioned off at the next club meeting. Photos of the items can be viewed HERE.  The list includes:

  • 1 - Magnum XLS 46, includes muffler, thrust washer, prop washer prop nut, exhaust deflector, Carburetor is frozen, Crankshaft is frozen.
  • 2 - OS FS 91 4 stroke, includes, muffler, thrust washer, prop washer, prop nut Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is free, Carburetor arm broken.
  • 3 - McCoy 35, no muffler Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is frozen. 
  • 4 - OS FX Max 91, includes muffler but no screws, thrust washer prop washer, prop nut, Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is free.
  • 5 - OS FX Max 61, includes muffler, thrust washer Carburetor is frozen, Crankshaft is free,
  • 6 - OS AX Max 120, includes Muffler but nipple is broken spare pump unit, thrust washer, prop washer, prop nut Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is free, Carb. arm broken, but new part included.
  • 7 - YS FZ 63s, includes muffler, thrust washer, prop washer prop nut, box, Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is free.
  • 8 - OS FS 91 4-stroke, includes muffler, thrust washer prop washer, prop nut, box Carburetor is free, Crankshaft is free. 
  • 9 - Bag of 4 tiny engines.
  • 10 - Bag of mufflers and muffler parts. 
  • 11 - Bag of engine parts, new and used.
  • 12 - Bag of Carburetor parts, new and used.
  • 13 - Bag of miscellaneous parts.


CRASH OF THE MONTH - 

Mike C. and Ed Y. were nominated for Crash of the month. Ed won for his crash doing a demo at the Railroad Show. 


MEETING ADJOURNED

The meeting was adjourned at  07:39 PM.  The next meeting  will be held on Monday Jan. 9, 2016 at Perkins Restaurant 1700 Trolley Rd  Summerville, SC at 7PM.
