FEB 2017 CRCS CLUB MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by club President Ed Yeash at 7:00PM Monday, Feb 6, 2017, at Perkins Restaurant located at 1700 Trolley Rd Summerville, SC. 

There were 30 members in attendance. Board members present were.

  • President: Ed Yeash
  • Vice President: Richard Jackson
  • Treasurer: Bob Mason
  • Secretary: Absent
  • Safety Officer: Dave Brown
  • Field Officer: Gerry Higdon
  • Members at Large:  Bill Evans, Bob Call, Roy Leopold

New Member - Joe Quagliato, Patick Cotton

Guest - Guests: Carla, wife of Joe Quagliato, and several members wives were in attendance.


MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING

Minutes from the last meeting were accepted as posted on the club website and as read in the meeting


TREASURERS REPORT

The treasurers report was read by Bob Mason and accepted by members present. 


FIELD MAINTENANCE REPORT

there were no issues.


SAFETY REPORT

Safety report was given by David Brown and no serious safety problems.  David did have a concern with fixed wing, a full scale air craft may have a problem with air space. There needs better communication with pilots. Also a suggestion for new pilots with orientation on the field. A stand by me program: maybe having a mentor to be with them. A discussion with a landing and take off patterns. It will be brought up a the next board meeting.


TRAINING REPORT

Student Pilots, Noah Smith and Dakota Smith


OLD BUSINESS

The railroad show was cancelled. Eutaville fly in is this Feb. 10-11 and the Lake City fly in is Feb. 18.


NEW BUSINESS

  • March 3-4 Perry GA swap meet. 
  • Picnic, float fly and breakfast there were no discussion on dates. 
  • Tractor pull is next month (March). 
  • The Geotec is to be ordered in the middle of March by Bob Mason. There will be a need for volunteers for installation.


SHOW AND TELL,

Wayne Coons showed his new Convergence by E-flite, what a fascinating air craft. This was followed by an auction by Gerry Hidgon, UMX, Spacewalker, Mini vapor and more stuff were in Gerry car and member were welcome to  purchase after the meeting.


CRASH OF THE MONTH - 

The crash of the month was given to Richard Guthrie, he crashed his Apprentice S into the trees while watching another aircraft that was flying erratically, and was not present at the meeting.

A special 3C (crash, crumple, crunch) award was given to Ed Yeash and presented by Bob Mason.


MEETING ADJOURNED

The meeting was adjourned at  07:50 PM.  The next meeting will be held on Monday Mar. 6, 2017 at Perkins Restaurant 1700 Trolley Rd  Summerville, SC at 7PM.
