TREASURERS REPORT

Treasurer Bob Mason read the treasures report and it was accepted by the membership. The treasurers report is available on the members only area of the website.

SAFETY REPORT

Safety Coordinator Bud Gehr had no safety issues to report at the field. Due to the months bad weather there was very little flying.

FIELD MAINTENANCE

Field Marshall Gerry Higdon reported that there was a rumor going around that the control line field was going to be eliminated. The rumor is false. There are no intentions at this time to remove the control line field. The area had been discussed at the last club meeting, but no plan was made to remove it. In fact the intention is to repair the damaged shelter.

He anticipates that we will resume grass cutting in April.

CLUB RAFFLE

Jim Mercer donated a ton of hobby related items to the club a couple of weeks ago. The club conducted a raffle of part of the items at the meeting. Tickets were $1 each or six for $5. Congratulations to Dave Brown for winning the rollaway tote filled with RC goodies! The proceeds will go toward supporting the club facilities and activities. Additional items will be raffled at future club meetings.

CRASH OF THE MONTH

There were no reported crashes for this month so Bob Call gets to hang on to the Prop Clock trophy for another month. There was an attempt to nominate Ed Yeash for a landing with half retracted landing gear on his FMS P-51, but it was beaten back due to the lack of carnage. We all agreed that it didn’t qualify as a crash.

SHOW AND TELL

Gary Jones Project 2Gary Jones Project 1

Gary Jones brought part of his latest scratch build project to the meeting. He showed us the foam core for the vertical stabilizer of a giant scale turbine powered flying wing he is building. The wings are built, complete with retracts and he is starting on the fuselage. He expects it to weigh around 35LB when completed. You can follow Gary’s build here on RCUniverse.

Since the subject of cutting foam cores came up during Gary’s presentation, Richard Jackson mentioned that he has a whole spool of Nichrome wire that he is willing to share if anyone needs any. Contact Richard if you feel the need to slice some foam!
