Minutes of April 2015 meeting were read by Secretary Bob Call. Motion to approve the minutes was made and seconded. Minutes were approved by those present. The April minutes are available HERE.

TREASURERS REPORT

Treasurer Bob Mason gave the financial report. Motion to approve the treasurer’s report was made and seconded. Minutes were approved by the members present. The report is available on the members only website.

SAFETY REPORT

Safety Report by Safety Officer Bud Gehr. Give your equipment a thorough checkup at the beginning of the flying season after extended winter storage. Remember to fly quads safely. There are FOUR props instead of one to avoid contact with. When setting up any multirotor or airplane remove the props. Its is not unheard of for a change in a setting on a transmitter or controller to cause the props to spinup unexpectedly. With a quad this is particularly hazardous. While at the field don’t power up your model until you get to the pit area to avoid accidents with bystanders.

FIELD MAINTENANCE

Field Marshall Gerry Higdon will cut the field each Thursday starting around 12:00 weather permiting.

OLD BUSINESS

NEW BUSINESS

POND FLYING SITE

Bob Call gave a report on his visit with Kirk Austin, owner of the Pond we use to float fly. There are NO problems with the club members’ use of the pond and we continue to be welcome there. Mr. Austin suggested we install a double gate at the entrance off Hwy. 27 with a chain and combination padlock for use by CRCS. Dave Brown will investigate the options for a gate and report to the next meeting.

NEW CLUB LOGO CONTEST

There was a discussion for replacement of the current club logo. Some members feel the current logo is dated looking and should be replaced with a more modern one. Long time member Richard Jackson stated that over the 46 years of its existance the club logo has been changed a number of times and that the current logo bears no resemblance to the original one, so it should not be considered a sacred object. A motion was made for the club to determine if it wanted to changing the logo. The motion was seconded and the membership voted to have a contest with members submitting new logo’s for the club. The submissions will be posted on the clubs website for review. A logo will be chosen at the July club meeting by popular vote of the membership from the submissions. The current logo will also be an option for those that prefer to keep it. The logo selected will be the new CRCS logo.
