TREASURERS REPORT

The treasurers report was read by Treasurer Bob Mason and accepted by members present.

FIELD MAINTENANCE REPORT

Field Marshall Gerry Higdon reported to watch out for wasps. Some wasp spray will be needed.  A big thank you to all those that helped last Thursday with the mowing to get the field in shape for the picnic last Saturday.  The field was in great shape for the event.

SAFETY REPORT

Dave Brown reported that 52 people showed up for the picnic and all was safe, but with one close call on one landing getting to close to some parked aircraft.  Also noted was a cotton-mouth snake under the paddle boat at the lake. Be careful when at the lake, and when flying alone.

TRAINING REPORT

Nothing new.

OLD BUSINESS

Club picnic was a big success this past Saturday, and all went well except for a few hard landings.

There was a silent auction with the help of  Wayne Coons who had cleaned out his hanger and donated lots of RC stuff to the club for the auction, including a UMX P-51, Spitfire with sound card, a cub and lots more.

NEW BUSINESS

  • The fabric runway will be re-proposed to the land owners, this time without any sand underneath.  The Congaree Flyers club has done this with great success. It will be 300’ x 15’ in size.
  • It was suggested that a small floating dock would be helpful at the lake to make it easier to take aircraft in and out of the lake.  Ed will look into this.

SHOW AND TELL

None

CRASH OF THE MONTH

Nominations for crash of the month were Bob Lanphear, Paul Adams, and Ed Yeash

By unanimous vote Ed Yeash won crash of the month for causing a mid air collision with a delta wing being flown by James Parker.  Thanks to Gary Quiring for having a replacement servo to get James flying again.

MEETING ADJOURNED
