Nov 2016 CRCS MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by club President Ed Yeash at 7:02PM Monday, Nov 7, 2016 at Perkins Restaurant located at 1700 Trolley Rd Summerville, SC. 


There were 25 members in attendance. Board members present were.

  • President: Ed Yeash
  • Vice President: Richard Jackson
  • Treasurer: Bob Mason
  • Secretary: Richard Guthrie
  • Safety Officer: Dave Brown
  • Field Officer: Gerry Higdon
  • Members at Large:  Bill Evans, Bob Call, Roy Leopold

It was George Hill’s 87th birthday


MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING

Minutes from the last meeting were accepted as posted on the club website and as read by club Secretary Richard Guthrie. 


TREASURERS REPORT

The treasurers report was read by Bob Mason and accepted by members present. 


FIELD MAINTENANCE REPORT

Gary H. noted that Mr. Bailey is still clearing trees fromthe major storm.  Be watchful for him. 


SAFETY REPORT

Dave Brown had no new safety issues to report. 


TRAINING REPORT

Marty Chesler is a new trainee being helped by Richard and Ed.  


OLD BUSINESS

Railroad show and tractor pull will be on Nov 19th. 


NEW BUSINESS

  • The club has a goal to have the Geotex runway wider so that it will be 30 feet wide instead of 15 feet.  This will make much more useable for landing.  Please donate what you  can to this effort
  • The club voted to donate $300 the the Larry Lemel Scholarship Fund. 
  • Nomination of club officers were made and all of the existing officers were nominated with no others nominated in opposition. 
  • The new field rules that were approved by the board were discussed.  They are posted at the field and on the web site. 
  • The 50th anniversary cloth patch was approved by the membership. They will cost $3.75   The date they will be available will  be determined later. 
  • There were many aircraft donated to the club that need to be fixed up, made ready with 2.4 receivers, and tested, then will be donated to promote RC flyers under 18. Contact Ed for any questions.

CRASH OF THE MONTH

Bob Lanphear was voted crash of the month for crashing his Apprentice.

The meeting was adjourned at  07:47 PM.  The next meeting will be held on Monday Dec. 5, 2016 at Perkins Restaurant 1700 Trolley Rd  Summerville, SC at 7PM
