NOV 2017 CRCS CLUB MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order by club President Ed Yeach at 7:02PM Monday, Nov 6, 2017, at Perkins Restaurant located at 1700 Trolley Rd Summerville, SC. 

There were 28 members in attendance. Board members are:

  • President: Ed Yeash
  • Vice President: Richard Jackson
  • Treasurer: Bob Lanphear
  • Secretary: Richard Guthrie
  • Safety Officer: Dave Brown       Absent
  • Field Officer: Gerry Higdon
  • Members at Large: Bob Call, Roy Leopold, Bill Evans

New Member - Capt. Robert Morgan Brooks 


MINUTES FROM THE LAST MEETING

Minutes from the last meeting were read by Ed Y. and accepted by the members present


TREASURERS REPORT

The treasurers report was read by Bob Lanphear accepted by members present. 


SAFETY REPORT

  • Ed Yeash noted that during the picnic several instances of people taking off without checking the pattern direction with the pilot that was already airborn.  REMEMBER, do not assume the pattern direction when there is little or no wind. 
  • There was a instance of an engine on a large plane where the engine shaft broke during warmup and the prop ended up in the middle of the field.  BE CAREFUL


FIELD MAINTENANCE REPORT

Normal grass cutting is done for the year. Many thanks to those that helped redo the webbing on the pilot stations. 


TRAINING REPORT

Both Patrick and Brian are still being trained by Richard, Ed is still training Eva. 


OLD BUSINESS

Several members are looking into getting a boom truck out to top trees. 


NEW BUSINESS

  • Railroad show Nov 18-19
  • Tractor pull Nove 18


SHOW AND TELL

  • Werner showed the new tranmitter from Taranix, the Q X7, 16 channel, about $100 and receivers are $30. Aloft is the main distrubuter. 
  • A foam board aircraft was auctioned off.


CRASH OF THE MONTH

Nominations included, Patrick Cotton, James Parker, and Ed Yeash,

Winner is ED again.

The meeting was adjourned at  08:02 PM.  The next meeting  will be held on Monday Dec 4, 2017 at Perkins Restaurant  1700 Trolley Rd  Summerville, SC at 7PM.
