  • Picnic that was scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd has been moved to December, 1st. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served.
  • The Model Rail Road show and the Bair-ly-Pulling events are both scheduled for November 17.  The Tractor Pull is a one day event on Saturday. The Model Rail Road is a two day event on Saturday and Sunday.  We need volunteers for both events.
  • Don’t forget to buy your raffle tickets for the December drawing. Ticket prices are: 6 tickets for $5.00; 25 for $20.00; or 125 tickets for $100.00.  Ed Yeash is heading up the ticket sales. Some great planes will be raffled off at the December meeting.
  • The dates for the Beauford Marine Base Air Show have been changed to April 27 & 28, 2019. As of now, the Officer in charge is saying that they will provide club members who participate with Hotel rooms and meals. If you have any questions, contact Frank Metzger or Ed Yeash.
  • Don’t forget to check out the website for information on the planes Dave Schonhut’s widow has asked the club to sell. The funds generated will be given to Mrs. Schonhut to help with the medical and funeral expenses.

NEW BUSINESS:

  • A motion was made by the Field Committee to purchase a load of gravel (two tons) to fill in low spots in the parking lot and drive way.  The last load we purchased lasted for a couple of years. This motion was passed.
  • It is time once again to be thinking about Officer Nominations. At this time, ALL offices are open and need your suggestions on who would be good candidates to fill them. The election will be at the December meeting so that the new officers will be in place for the January meeting.

SHOW AND TELL:

  • Our new member Scott Truitt brought in several small engines made by one of his family members who is an engineer. Scott had them mounted on wood and Plexiglas stands.
  • Richard Jackson showed off his foam combat plane, a $40 kit from Lazertoyz.com.
  • Joe Quagliato brought in his all wood, hand painted, Evolution 60 gas powered plane. He started work on it in May and had to sand and repaint it several times. The only things on the plane that were not hand painted are the decals and 81 sticker.
  • Capt. Morgan brought in the Pilatus PC-9 that he purchased from Mrs. Schonhut. He has already flown it and said that while it was slow to take off, once it was in the air, it took off like a rocket.

CRASH OF THE MONTH:

There was only one nomination for Crash of the Month. Richie Harris lost the prop on his V-Tail and crashed.
